350z for s2k
How can I tell if its in good condition,. The car is at an Acura dealership so I think they should be somewhat trustworthy. As far as warentee I think they only give me the remaining factory, but I will see if the acura place can certify the car.
Doesn't sound too bad, but IMO I think that S should be more like $26.5-27k. I've seen BRAND NEW '03's selling for $28-29k with no mileage on them. Heck, I just got an '04 for $31.2k. 4600 miles or not, it's used and it's over a year old. That car may have been made in '02! Kelly Blue Book trade-in value on that S, in excellent condition with 4600 miles, is coming up as $24,675. Your Z on the other hand is coming up as $28,600 in excellent condition with 24,000 miles. Now, KBB values are always high, but that's besides the point. Your Z is worth more than that S and they're asking too much for it. If you really want an S, I'd just sell the Z privately and go get yourself a brand new S.
Oh and never consider a car dealer to be "somewhat trustworthy". Treat them like most of them treat their customers. They're guilty until proven innocent.

Wow. That same car in LA books for $30,815! You know what they say...location, location, location.
ZSAK, You say the dealer offered the car to you for the same payment with 0 down. But did they say how long the term would be on the S? Bring a calculator with you when you go back to talk to the dealer. You'd be surprised at how well they can play with those numbers making it seem like you're getting a good deal, when they're actually screwing you. Good luck!

Car dealers don't offer things out of the goodness of their hearts. They don't do charity. It'd be nice, but... They are gaining in some way or another or they wouldn't be doing it and if they're gaining, chances are, you're losing! That's business. I'd chew them down another $1,000 on that S considering your Z is worth almost $4,000 more.

It's not a steal deal to me, the S is too expensive. If I were you, I'd sell the Z privately and get a new, or slightly use, S and have money left for a little mod or put more down to even lower the payment, no need to hurry.
My 10 months old '03S would get no more than 26.5, privately, it's kindda sad, and I'm so tempted with this '04.
This is like a hot dog-like balloon, he can squeese you either end and still make the same profit. I know everybody got to make a living. But if you take it easy, you won't get hurt that much and can actually turn things around. Take your time, 'bro. There's a planty of S and Z right now.

It's sad to see the value of our car's depreciate because so many out there are willing to sell them for less than their worth. I agree with selling your Z private party and then buying the S2000 while having some money left over. IMO you almost always get ripped on trades.
Well the loan term will be the same as where I will leave my Z from. 48 months. Now my Z does have some problems so the car is definetly not excellent, tranny is grinding again(had 1 tranny replacement) driver seat is worn already, and the the front bumper needs to be replaced and painted as well as the hood with the paint chips. Now They still havnt given me hard prices on the car selling price and my trade in value. So it is still a toss up. To me I think it kinda evens out given the condition of my car and the condition of the new. I already told them I am interested in the deal so I don't know how to go about asking for more. What do you suggest?
Only way anyone can help further is for you to go to the dealer and have them put ink to paper
Get the deal they offer in writing.
The dealer has seen your car (appraised) and you have test driven the s2k, right?

From what I can see the market price in my area it is about the same private or dealer sales. Similar cars all run right around 28.8k. This may be due to being in florida. This is what I found on autotrader that is.
