I went from selling Honda's to selling Nissan's. I've tried my best to sell MYSELF on the Z. I just can't do it. We've seen a few beautiful ones in the shop, but none match the understated beauty of the S.

The S's tendancy to oversteer can be fixed with an $80 alignment and/or a $185 FSB. And the 2.2 won't step out like that, anyhow. There's no dollar fix for the push of the Z-pig. And to have a true equal comparison you'd have to be talking about the Z-roadster which gains another 200+ lbs.

Different types of cars: cruiser vs. sprinter.
The G-35 coupe doesn't perform quite the same but sure does look better.

can't the oversteer just be compensated by adjusting the rear tow?

I'll be a monkies uncle if the Fat, Heavy Z will pull ANY car lengths on an S unless it is modified. I sure have never seen it happen. I have owned 2 S's now and have spent time in the Z. I think the Z is cheap, and ugly, just my opinion, Z owners don't take offense, you can tell me the S is cheap and ugly too.

They're such different cars, imo.

Yeah, you could dial in a LOT of rear toe. That's the wrong way to go about it, though.

When I said cruiser vs. sprinter - I didn't mean to imply the S was quicker. They're within a tenth @ 60ft., 60 MPH, and 1/4 mi. It's really all driver in a straight line. What matters to me is cornering and that's where the S shines and the Z plows.

If I had a long commute or took cross country drives maybe the Z would suit my needs. Then again, if that were the case I'd probably go RX-8.

Yes Blitz, the oversteer will be significantly reduced when towing a heavy trailer. Just watch out for the mean whiplash effect though .

Hate to break it to ya but the only way for you to match a Z in the straights is to dump the clutch at 8K.
From roll your toast and at highway speeds it is just no contest.
There are alot of categories where I love the S2000 over my Z. Sharper handling.....go-cart responses.....but from a roll I can take any stock S and at highway speeds the Z wins hands down every time!

And looks are subjective....but i do get more in the Z. Only been driving the S2000 for a week so Ill keep an eye out for that. I did get an "is that the new Miata" from one chick

That would never happen in a Z Roadster.

It's all a drivers race and thats that. Around a track or drag, doesnt matter.

I have gotten a chance to run one s2k when I had only intake. It was ashort run but I pulled half a car and was still pulling as the speeds got higher. Had to shut down due to traffic in front of us. He was a good sport and we waved to each other before going on our own ways.

I now have intake/exhaust/plenum ( intake manifold ), took my high flow cats off but I will be getting another set sometime. Also have 275 width s03's in the rear. If any s2k's would like a friendly run in the bay area, I'm game...

About looks, I get so much attention it is rediculous in my Z. I can't go on a 5 minute drive without getting thumbs up, or someone talking to me about my car. I have also gotten MANY comments either asking if my car is a porsche, or actually thinking its a porsche.

Anyways, both a great looking cars, both are great performers, and both will appeal to different people. I don't see why some people can sit there and say all this false crap about the Z, or how some people can say crap abut the S. Some people are just ignorant.

One catagory that the S DEFFINITLY wins in is fun to drive factor. The s2k is the most fun car I have EVER drivin and I have drivin a lot of different vehicles. I got my Z because that is what overall, that I wanted to get and I am more then happy with my decision..

Z + 19 inch volk wheels = SEXY. ( No my wheels arnt heavy, they are 6 pounds per wheel lighter then the stock 17's )
