I used the 3 inch cookie cutter circle placed it into the neck of the RE-810 K&N air filter. Stuck it into the car and damb was it tight! Cost $0.50!

I picked up a new filter from a friend for 25 bucks so I said what the hell. I went 22,000+ with my old filter with the radiator shield off for most the the way.(much more air but more debris with it)

Well installation was tough but not to bad. I heated up the neck with a hair drier and stuck the cookie cutter in the freezer. Physics kicking in there. Ask you high school science teacher if you dont understand.

Im gonna run the car get it warm and try to push the filter in farther but its fine for now nice tight seal!

BTW: I already previously put a zip tie around the opening to try to make it a little smaller so that probably helped in its fit.

With the exception of the air bag stickers the most bang for the buck I've had yet. My cookie cutter cost $1, but was a fit without the temp tricks.

Yea there is a perf area that has been taken out kinda looks ribbed to give a seal when it goes over a tube. Beyond that there is a inner smaller area. That is where the cookie cutter goes!

that's cool. i happened to have some insulating foam tape lying around and used that to fill the gap. if i didn't have a basement with 30+ years of junk in it, i'd go with a cookie cutter!
