Default 3rd Gear Click

Hi,

Just picked up a 2002 S2000. I noticed that sometimes there is a small click feeling when shifting into 3rd. Do other people notice this too?

Thanks for the help.

I have that feeling too. It only lasts until the car is warmed up. After that I never feel it again.

What is it? I have no clue.

I wouldn't worry about it. It's just a characteristic of the tranny. All trannies will have their own personality. Some click when cold, knock when warm, purrrr when hot. It's more noticeable when cold because the oil isn't warmed up to "cushion" all the mechanical stuff that comes together in a tranny.

I have a MY2000 S2000 and still feel the little "click" that you describe. It's normal for our tranny.

My 2000 S2000 does the same thing. It's not reall a click but I know
what your talking about. Was discussed a great lengths when our cars
were new. Not a problem. Not like the dreaded gear grind which I never
had.
