Will the changes for 06 make it harder or possible to change to the 4.57 gears?

 

No one will know for sure until the 06 actually comes out. But I would think it would not be any different. This "traction control" feature that is coming out on the 06 model won't do anything with the diff... it will probably modulate the throttle (ie: new "drive by wire" throttle) and have fun with the ABS.
