Default Coilovers,vs springs+shocks...

For aggressive street driving and occasional auto-x,what is the best springs/shocks combo,and how would you rate it against the cheapest coilovers?
Price,and performance,wise;how do the cheapest coilovers compare to the best springs/shocks?

Fight the urge. Contrary to popular belief, the stock S2000 suspension isn't woefully inadequate.

The stock suspension is quite good.

However for a spring shock combo going with comptech adjustables and koni's is excellent. A search should reveal tons of testimonial for both street and track on this combination. Which you can get used for roughly $700 on the forsale forums, a good amount cheaper than most coilovers.

You can get new,cheap,coilover,(Megan,D2,...)for under $1000.00
Would they be better than good springs(Comptech...) and Koni Yellow?

Probably not. In fact most sub 1k coilovers and cheaper JDM solutions make the car slower than it is on stock suspension. The cheapest good suspension I would look at is the KW's that Go Fast Lab sells.
