Default 4.57R on AP2

I am interested in installing 4.57R gears and the Hondata Reflash on my 06.

Most of the members I see posting about the 4.57R gears have the AP1

Is there less of a difference realized from upgrading gears on an AP2 when compared to an AP1?

Thanks for the help..

slight less total change for gears mod in AP2 over AP1 ... but the benefits are there, noticeable and toally good IMHO

YMMV

I've heard that 4..57's in an ap2 are similar to putting 4.77's in an ap1. I have em, love em. I will say when I'm on the interstate, I do keep looking to put the car into "7th" gear though. Raises you r cruising rpm by about 400. Al ittle buzzy but worth the tradeoff IMO.

It depends on how you drive. My city MPG went up a little. But my highway went down a little. Makes sense when you think about what the gears actually do.

What I like best about the 4.57's is the extra power in 5th and 6th. While highway crusing, I can easily pass in 6th and very seldom downshift into 5th. When I do have to downshift into 5th, the gears give the car plenty of pull!

I was thinking about the 4.44 gears for the AP2. They are a bit cheaper and if you look at the graphs from turnzero.com, they have lower highway revs and *looks* to have nearly the same performance.

However the difference is pretty slight, (at least on paper), and other than crusing at a couple hundred rpm lower at 70 in 6th, you'll be saving about $200. So, I'm still torn between the two, however I keep leaning more and more to the 4.44s.

I believe you can look to Kia for the 4.77s.
