Motorklasse 4.77's - $330
Gear install - $150
Self diff install - $0
Speedo calibrator - $50

Total = $530

My gears have only been in for a couple months, but have been beaten to hell and back over 4 track days. No problems, no noises.

Any recommendations on finding someone to install gears? IE what to search for in the yellow pages.

So do you think it was worth the money and time?

The car is not going to feel ridiculously faster (i.e. it is not going to make your S2000 pull like a sportbike), but it is noticably peppier. When putzing around town, it is hard to even notice the gears. I notice them most on the highway when 6th gear sounds like 5th and you are wishing there was a 7th. You also notice that when you get on them on the street, first gear becomes a joke and the rest of the gears wind up quicker. IMO, for the price I paid ($500+), they are well worth it.

What do you mean first gear is a joke? Is it because you are only in it for a about a sec. Just for driving around town how is intial accelleration? Someone mentioned one time they feel better they don't have to gun it just to stay up with a mini van from a stop light.

i feel like the car is easier to drive. i dont have to downshift as often to pass people or up hills.my butt dyno tells me its a little quicker but nothing to freak out about. it does just feel more fun to drive though. im not really into street racing or straight line racing but i havea few friends with similar mods as i have but without the gears so im sure i can have a little fun with one of them and see if there really is a big difference. then again nothing makes a huge difference power wise in this car short of FI. If i had the option i would purchase them again. like i said before, it isnt a drastic change but it feels like this is how it should have come from honda. it jsut feels better to drive.

edit: i like driving on the freeway much more now because my car is now out of my single exhauts drone range

That sounds pretty good, for the price it sounds like this is one the better mods to do if you can't afford or not ready to go F/I.

Hmm yeh I have a feeling I'll be working on the clutch pp flywheel and gears before going Inline or Greddy.... but even that's after I put some suspension in..... gears seem like one of those first mods you should do if you plan to go SC or TC
