i usually drive my car hard, but have noticed that the temp gauge is always on 3 bars (unless it is not warmed-up)... have never seen it go to 4 or more bars-
has anyone seen more than 3 bars?
if so, how did it happen?

There was an earlier thread on this...the consensus was that no one's seen it go over 3, I think.

thanks Jay Li- guess i missed that thread. am having difficulty loading some of the old threads. (get a message with older ones that the site is no longer there...) still wonder why the temp gauge has more than 4 bars- must be for if the radiator is empty!

This last summer, when it was 110 degrees in the middle of August deep in the heart of Texas during five o'clock bumper-to-bumper "rush" hour, cars all around me were on the side of the road boiling their guts out. My little red stook just purred along with the AC cranking and three bars on the temp gauge. I've never seen it higher than that.
