i just got my used and salvaged titled 02 s2000 and noticed that at 80mph on the freeway, RPM was at 4500. i kno s2000 has close ratio 6sp but i was just wondering is it normally at around 4500 rpm at 6th gear on 80mph? my previous car integra gsr was at 4000 rpm at 5th gear on 80mph.. it seemed a bit high.. or not

 

manual trannies have fixed gear ratios and will NEVER EVER vary their engine speed at a constant MPH.

yes, 4500@80 is about right. yer fine.

Since it kind of relates to the topic at hand...anyone know what the fastest speed you can go in each gear before you hit fuel cutoff (1-5 gears)?

Cool, I kinda would like to know the '04 speeds also. Tried the damn search...but it just hasn't been the same since the swapover.
