5th Gear Hard to Hit
I just got a 2001 S2000 with 6,500 miles on it
Only problem I'm having (and it's scheduled back at the dealer's for service) is that when shifting to 5th, you can go to the right of 5th into a dead area. This happens up and down shifting.
Anyone else ever have this problem? Otherwise, it's a breeze to hit the correct gear.
Thanks,
Gary

Are you pushing down on the shift knob while aiming for fifth? The only "dead area" I can think of is the slot just before you hit reverse. The only way to hit that is to push down on the knob...unless your lockout isn't working for some reason.
I've never had much problem finding fifth; sounds like you might want to check that lockout. See if you can get the car into reverse without pushing the knob down (obviously do this at a stop or with the car not running!!!!).
