is 5W50 oil safe to use on our engine?
I know the manual reccomends 5W40 for serve weather conditions... however, I have a few boxes of 5W50 lying around.. which I don't know if I could use them for an engine with 9000 rpm.
any help will be appreciated. Thanks

I would not use a 5w50. At high temps, it will be too thick to get into the tighter tolerance areas of the engine, and that wide a spread of viscosity likely involves VI improvers which may or may not be stable. Who is the mfr of that product?
