I know there are probably posts about engine oils already, but the new forum search is pretty rubbish.

Just wondering which engine oil to use ?

Can you mix different oils? I.e topping up with different oil

Any info will be appreciated

 

I'd say you mix different brands that are the same grade.

I use 5w40 millers full synth and my car runs very quiet.

Alot of people use castrol diesel oil too

 

I kind of like the new search function form.

Don't use 0w it will feck your timing chain tensioner.

New search is rubbish.

 

I found the answer in 3 clicks and typing in the word "oil" Works perfectly.

Maybe we need a how to use the search topic.

The key is clicking on the cog icon, then you get the full search options.

Type in "oil" in the top box.

Then select "forums" although it should already be selected.

Then click UK community.

And away you go.
