I am changing my rear diff fluid tonight, so I picked up some valvoline gear oil today. The manual only says sae90, but does not specify weight. Is 80 weight ok? The only 75w they had was a $12 bottle of mobil 1 synthetic.

 

12 dollars for mobil 1? wow i got mine for 6 bucks.

 

Carefull, I believe our limited slip requires an additive. When in doubt, use the overpriced Honda product.

 

FYI: There is no Honda diff fluid available for individual sale.



Differential Gear Oil for S2000s
Here's an update to the article we posted in the October '01 issue of ServiceNews (see "GL6 Gear Oil Not Available for S2000 Differentials"). You can actually fill up the differential with any SAE 75-90 or 80-90 viscosity hypoid gear oil that's classified GL5 or GL6, not just SAE 90.

yeah 80w90i is fine...castrol hypoid C gear oil 80w90 is what i plan to use
