91-94NSX or New S2000?
Hi guys,
This is my first time on this board but I have been checking it out for the last 6 months. I was just about to buy an S2000 until I found out that there are 91-94 NSX's for almost the same price. I love the styling of both cars so i need some feedback. For those who have owned both, what are the pros and cons? How about cost of maintenance/insurance? Any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated

HwangTKD,
Hmmm...depends on how much you like either car.
The NSX may have some maintainance issues and will cost you more $$$ for insurance. Plus, the new NSX is comming out. I hate to be outdated...you know?

Tough decision. These cars seem to have similar missions but approach it differently. This is similar to the situation I was in before I ended up with the S2K. Mine was between a Vette and the S2K. In the end I decided that what I really wanted was a roadster and since I do not consider the Vette a roadster... well here I am.
Love the S2K immensely. I say go with the S2K now and wait for the 2003 NSX. It is supposed to get some styling changes, a newer/better engine and is supposed to be less expensive. Personally, I'd love to see it in the 60K range (am I dreaming or what?). We shall see.

Another factor which hasn't been mentioned is that an auto loan for a used car will always be more expensive than for new-

might want to ponder thoughts at http://www.nsxsc.com and http://www.nsxprime.com - you'll see any maintenance issues w/the NSX's - mainly they revovle around the 90K mile service, which can be around $1K. its quite a reliable car - which is why in my book, its not truely an exotic unless it spends most of its life in the shop! Ha! But I love the car - if I could do it, I would, but I'm having too much fun in my S right now.
also, I should note, there are numerous discussions about autoloans for 7+ year old cars - they are difficult to come by, especially if they are over $30K and have significant miles on them. Anything is worth a try, but try those forums for suggestions.

I considered the same question and went with the stook because the NSXs I found for a similar price were in fairly poor condition. $32k is too much to spend on a beat up car, IMO. If you find a really nice example for that price, however, it'd probably be rewarding to get the NSX.
