About to go to track tomorrow...any recomendation?
Hi, I am about to go to the track tomorrow for the first time ever. I am going to Hallet in Oklahoma.(I don't know if you have heard of it). I have never done this before, so I was curious if anyone had any pre-track advice for me? It is basically a High Speed Touring Series with no passes on turns. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-Brandon

Avoid the "RED MIST!" You'll have lots of time on the track so explore your and the car's limits slowly. The last time I did a track day at Summit Point WV, a 2000 ram air Firebird passed me on the front stright (I was in my z24 at the time, I was between the my 85 Corvette and the S2000) at about 130+mph. He then proceded to go straight in to the gravel trap at turn one, when his brakes faded. Fully beached in the gravel, they had to tow him out and red flag the session
There will always be another track day and it's better to push the car a little more next time than end up in the gravel.
