that really sucks. i also think its great the cops busted him. i have not had any problems really. i get people who give me dirtly looks like im a spoiled kid driving a nice car, even though im 26. i just look like im 18-20. no one in my town messes with me either. there are only about 20k people here, and everyone knows me. i also have the only S here. i did have some kid from out of town trying to jack with me over the weekend. had a maxima with a crap muffler. i was gonna hammer him, but i had my wife with me and she got all pissed and told me to leave him alone.

I had some want to be thugs Mad dog me and throw gang signs out their window at me the other night. I wasn't too worried though (I was on my way home from the shooting range w/ 9mm, SIG .40 and a Kimber .45 in the car )

Most the time I get compliments on the car and people asking what kind of car it is and what size motor is in it. Most people think its a 6 cyl. or v8 and when I tell them its a 4cyl. the look shocked

Yeah, I guess just always keep your cell phone ready. I let discretion get the better part of valor that day. It is not worth going to jail (or worse) to settle the score. That is what 9-1-1 is for. Its just unbelievably ****ed up what people do to others for no good reason.

Mostly I get nice comments. But my car has been keyed. I've been driving for over 30 years and never was keyed before in all kinds of cars. And recently some dumby tried to pry open the door over the gas cap, chipping the paint on the fender and the door.

I definitely have an experience to share...(this is in Portland, OR btw)

Drove up to a Starbucks and it was a Sat. night so tons of people hanging out there - as I parked the car right up front and walked in, I hear some of the people talking about the car. Mostly hush comments about the color, etc so I just keep walking but one guy who was trying to be cool with his g/f said "yeah that is the exact same Lotus I was looking at buying"....I couldn't help buy chuckle as I walked by!

Driving the s2000 in norcal is quite normal, no drama since there are just way too many nice cars here. Even a Ferrari may not get you that much attention here - and BMW = Honda out here....

I do get positive comments about the car all the time when I'm out shopping with my girl. Just last Sunday she told me see you get all these nice remarks about this car that you don't need to buy your Lambo anymore...hahaha

Mostly positive reactions.. the only time I get negative reactions is usually from some loser redneck in his lifted 4x4 truck yelling something like "rich bitch!" at me... even tho their truck probably cost just as much as my S2000.

I guess the difference is that they'll get their truck repo'ed at some point, since they couldn't "really" afford the payments in the first place.
