Is this the ABS working?

When I make sudden stops on rough roads (uneven, potholes...not gravel) my brake pedal feels like a spring being sprung - hard to describe - does not feel like regular ABS deployment, no quick pulsing...anyone else experience the same?

Whenever I try the ABS (mostly in the rain), it feels like gravel under my feet (that's the only way I can describe it). Is this what you're experiencing?

Occasionally if I'm braking and go over an angle in the road (such as on a driveway), the front tires ABS for a fraction of a second, and it feels like the spring being sprung like you say. I think that's normal (at least I hope it is <G>)

yea, i hope it is normal too...I know it does not feel like the usual ABS deployment (for example: wet pavement) - maybe it is some weird geometry thing.

Mine does the same thing. It's normal. My last car did it too.

Agreed. It was a bit strange the first time it engaged, but it's perfectly normal.

Always keep an eye on your rear view if you have to hit the binders hard. We have a car that is about the best for stopping in short distances.

I had a guy the other that wasn't following that closely, but he still had to head for the boonedocks. He appearently was looking at the rear of my car rather noticing that the light had changed.

Most people look just in front of their hoods rather than a 1000 feet down the road.
