My old AP1 had hundreds of aggressive autoX launches (4500-5000 rpm) on r-compounds with no issues.

Click on my sig and see the video links, if properly done, you can push the S2000 to the limit (rev limit shifts, 2nd+3rd gear chirping, launching at 6K with fair amount of wheelspin)
Good job on the vids! They look and sound great! What format do you use when you upload? I've got an HD camera, and when I upload the vids, youtube murders them! My files prior to upload are usually HD 720/60p

Good job, and the car sounds KILLER! I've got my HKS exhaust and AEM intake on, just gotta wait for summer, then Ill post a few vids!

My car is an ap2 i've done burn outs plenty of 6k launches donuts you name it. Its been through dry nitrous kit, supercharged, now turbo. The only thing that hasn't been able to hold up is the stock clutch cdv/cdv removed. I changed that at 40k im at 60+k miles on my motor, trans and diff with a act 6puck sprung. I even changed out the rear end gears to 4.77's did hard launches did hard shifts and everything switched back to stock gears and still no hiccups. I love racing from a stop and i have many many many runs at the track and on the street under my belt. She hasn't let me down yet oh yeah mechanically over revved 3 times Will be putting a 3mm headgasket on this winter and will be lookin to boost 16-17 psi. Trick to not snapping your axles and blowing your diff is stay on street tires. Unless you go to a really agressive drag radial or slick don't plan on your drivetrain lasting at all ap1 or ap2.

WOWZA! Stay on street tires.... then your wish list is for a set of drag radials... LMAO... getting close to runnin slicks!

What is with the Imola orange? Is that a Honda color?

Sounds like the cars are pretty strong! Im gonna have a max of I/H/E, clutch, flywheel and MAYBE Engine management.... which ever one that will be. Then, chances are unlikely I will drive mine quite as hard as you drive yours.....

...........but then again..... who knows!

Great reply! I appreciate it! Keep 'er comming guys!

Just HAVE to let everyone know..... This isnt burning rubber but is a diesel emoticon. That is smoke from the stacks!

imola orange is a factory honda 3 stage pearl not available here in the US. Don't get me wrong if you want to break something you will break something. The reason why i may have not broken anything is the way i drive. And yes it does say in my christmas list i want drag radials but might just stick to a really good wide street tire so when i go out to the races it will appear i am not makin a good amount of power. I've also hit a rail drifting, been rear ended, and slightly tboned in the front LOL and the car has no reinforcement beams and it still handles/drives like it did when i got it.

Yeah, not interested in breaking it, just a little paranoid I suppose.

I drove my first AP1 for about 70,000 miles over the course of about 2.5 years and literally bounced off the rev limiter 2 or 3 times a day and never once had a problem. As previously stated, the weak point lays in the diff. The clutch was intentionally made weak so as to prevent catastrophic damage to the diff (especially in the AP2s with the clutch delay).

No one said anything about the transmission. So how does the transmission hold out? How about the synchros?

I'd also like to hear how often people here flush their transmission fluid, any difference in smoothness between shifts?

So.... I am extremely mechanically enclined, and understand anything mechanical
Um, I don't really think you are, or you would understand there is nothing wrong with hitting the rev limiter.
