I was just reading through the honda site generic comparison between the 06 mx5(miata) and the 05 s2k... The LSD is an option on the miata but, wasnt mentioned. that plus sport suspension brings the mx5 up to almost 28k. All of a sudden the s2k is a better deal even price wise. Do the 05 s2k have traction control? I assume the LSD is standard.
I just want to be sure I am geared up for all the miata fans that are in the office that will no doubt say mazda out did honda.... Besides just saying.. it still a miata

the S has traction control via it's LSD.

IMO, that is the most effective method anyway. I feel that the "braking traction control" is a cost-cutting move so they can dump a LSD.

The 06 Miata will probably be comparable to the 05 MS miata. close, but no cigar agains the S.

 

The Miata will never be about beating cars like the S2000. That isn't what the car is designed for, and really it isn't what the owners want it for.

 

more of a cruising car....less performance oriented.

while the miata is a fantastic car, it's underpowered compared to the S2000. hence the reason the S2000 tends to destroy it in pretty much every performance aspect on the track or drag strip.

the S2000 has a Torsen LSD, but no traction control.
