Default adjusting shift knob

I just got a countersunk shift knob from ricks and I love it! The only problem I have now is when I screwed it on and looked at it, the six speed etching didn't line up completely straight. Any way to fix this? I know there is a nut that is supposed to be there but I can't find it, am I just not seeing it. A picture would really be appreciated. Thanks.

I just ordered one too. My plan is to take it to the machine shop and have them put in a tiny set screw on the back side of the knobs little shaft. It will not be visible when locked in. Should only cost a few bucks. If you have access to a drill press and tap set, you can DIY.

Ive heard people just put some telfon tape at the bottom of the threads on the shifter so that the knob snugs up real tight before bottoming out so you can position the shift pattern properly

Just go to the hardware store and buy a jamb nut, they are about 1/8" thick.

I just got my knob in tonight

Of course I ran outside and put it in the car immediately. My wife was just shaking her head

OMFG!!! I can't believe how much I love it. I have quite a few mods on my car and I think this $100 mod is my favorite! I have never had such a good time rowing through the gears before and it feels so much better just holding the knob

Never thought I'd say that.

Voodoo

I should have done this years ago!

So you like Rick's knob huh? Yeah, I really enjoy the OEM titanium. It would seem like a small inconsequential item, but it is actually one of the most important mods because you use it everytime you get into the car and it affects the way you shift and ultimately the feel of the car.

I just wish I would have tried one out a few years ago and gotten it then. I never knew what I was missing!

lol my OEM titanium one's pattern is messed up too. Just get the one without pattern haha. So is installing of new shift knob easy? cuz I plan to get one. You just basically unscrew the knob and screw the new one in? Any bolts and stuff involved?
