I've driven both AP1 and AP2, owned an AP1. You would be happy with either one, the only real-world difference is that the AP2 has minimally more torque at the low end. Find the best S you can afford and go from there. Good luck!

I have owned both. Right now I am selling my Club Racer (ap2) more for value so I can jump back into an ap1. I enjoy the ap1 a little more for the raw feeling of drive that the ap1 offers. Drive by wire and hardtop with no soft top was not something I particularly liked but do yourself a favor and drive both cars.

I keep seeing this one pop up, it may be gone, but I had to talk myself out of it a couple of times.

The best performance bang for the buck (for me) is the 2006 and later DBW cars with a Honda FlashPro tune. VTEC at 3600rpm and associated fuel tweaks provides a startling amount of mid range power and acceleration.

Honda tweaked the handling every two years starting in 2000 as well. This makes the "best" S2000 the MY 2008 (the 300 or so 2009 cars are left over 2008 cars).

The Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) and traction control Nanny can be turned off by pressing a switch on the dashboard.

Looking for a specific color will often severely limit your choices. I choose performance over cosmetics.

Chuck,

Thanks so much. I live in the Atlanta area and need to investigate what type of "support" is in the area for the S2000. Also I need to check on "reflash" best bang for the buck.I need to find the right car first..... : ) Thank you

Chuck,

I finding cars with compression numbers/ per cylinder. What would be good numbers for a car with 50,000 miles? Or is it more important for all 4 cylinders to be close?

All to be close, and unless you verify the #s yourself take them with a grain of salt.
