Default Advice on 3M tape removal??

My Front Lip got cracked in about 5 places (pretty nasty) and I would like to remove it so that road grit doesn't get in there and f*&^ up my front bumper. How should I go about removing the lip, as it is afixed pretty strongly with that automotive-grade double sided tape? Any suggestions? WIll I hurt the paint under it?

3M adhesive remover. It is safe for the paint but I would re-wax it after you use it.

You just soak the adhesive tape for a while and then carefully pull it off. After that take a rag soaked in the adhesive remover and scrub off the left over residue. Follow with you favorite wax.

mine actually came in a rather lage white metal can, but i imagine it's all the same stuff. I found it at a car shop so anything that's similar at a car place should work fine.
