Hello People,
New to this forum but have been shopping around for a Honda S2000 for a couple of months. I think that I have found a prospective purchase. The unit is a year 2000 model and I am wondering if there is anything that isn't covered in the service bulletins that I should consider when looking at the 2000 models. The unit is garaged and low mile. It is a Florida car. I am experienced with autos but not this model.
Any advice or links to threads that I should read would be appreciated.

Some of the earlier models (including mine) suffered from a 'buzzing' clutch on deceleration at low(ish) speed. It is a cosmetic problem only and is fixable by putting a later model clutch in the car. My dealer did mine under warranty.

There have been a number of TSBs issued also, the seat belt tensioners being one of them. You might want to ask the previous owner if these have been performed.

 

another important tsb for the 2000 was the plug recall-
as with any used car, take it to a mechanic you trust (if you dont know any, your dealer is next best) to check it out for you...

 

Add faded tail lights (current recall) and tonneau cover

 

you also have to watch for the hordes of beautiful women the car attracts cause they all kno 2000 was the best year.
