Default Advice sought on this S2000 please

Hi,

I am hoping to view this S2000 very shortly: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3294114.htm

Any thoughts on the car itself and the price? It is a present for the wife (don't tell her!) who likes yellow cars (and there don't seem to many around in that colour).

Thanks,

Jonathan

There's a sticky thread for these types of questions for future reference.

This car looks too good to be selling for that price but I don't know values in the UK. The bit about emigrating/fast sale reeks of scam too, so just make sure you don't pay until you see and drive the car yourself.

If it ends up being legitimate and you buy it be sure to put the airbox lid back on if they still have it--the car only gains noise at the expense of power with it off as pictured.

Minus the mutilated air box looks fine to me.

In my opinion, the car looks too good to be true. I know that £6300 is that equivalent of around $10,00-$11,000 but I know that the British market, especially for a car like the s2000 is usually inflated. The emigrating part could be your red flag but if you have been in contact with the seller, all paperwork and VIN numbers match up correctly and the car has proper documentation I say go for it everything about the car checks out, just a matter of if the seller does or not. And by all means neccesary, do not provide funds to anybody without checking everything out beforehand. If the seller seems shady or wants a large deposit before you even view the car stay away and safe yourself the headache.
