Default AEM, is it any good.

Are these any good. I don't want the CAI, because of waterlock, I know alot of people haven't had any issues with it but I just don't even want it to be an issue. I'm not looking on getting any gains either, because I know that you don't get much compared to the stock set up. I don't want to spend a fortune on a intake either.

Let me know what you think of this intake.

Ok never mind, the link doesn't work. Anyways it's the regular AEM intake not the CAI from AEM. Short ram or whatever you want to call it.

short ram intakes strike me as useless, i feel like they just suck in hot air around the engine...

if you want something that works go with k&n FIPK, it stays under the hood so you dont have problems with hydrolock.

other choices could be spoon, j's, mugen. those cost a fortune but i heard they were awesome.

I have an AEM V2 intake and i have noticed a big difference especially when the VTEC kicks in. There are noticable gains through the entire RPM band but mostly once you are past about 3000, and it sounds quite nice to. Very agressive.

I know what you are talking about with the whole hydrolock thing but there is a simple solution, just dont drive through deep water.

That's my belief as well. I call them HAIs... Hot Air Intakes.

well they have both negative and positive effects. while the air might be warmer decreasing its dencity it does however have to travel a smaller distance to reach the engine. this is usually good for higher rpm power while CAI is usually good for low end.
