Default aem bypass valve???

is aem bypass valve useless? i drive my s everyday and i am afraid of water getting in the engine. i read posts that say the bypass only works if the filter is completely submerged in water. if the bypass is usless, i am gonna go with comptech. yes i have done many many searches and read all the posts about the two intakes and threads about hydrolocking the engine so please do not tell me to do a search.

thanks,

eddie

I dont know how good the AEM valve is at preventing hdrolock but
it vertainly very good at reducing the power gain. Here is the proof everyone is after.
My friend's car, 00S2k with a VAFC

You can see the power loss with the bypass valve on vs off

aem bypass valve is useless they totaly defeat the purpose of a cai also they dryrot and flake apart , and the only way of getting water in the intake would be parking in a foot of water and redlining it
