Over in this thread:
http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...p?threadid=6710
there was discussion of how to reduce the vibration of the aeroscreen, in particular the Rick Hesel extended screens, which use the Honda mechanism. At times it can vibrate in the wind enough to be distracting in the rear view mirror.
One suggestion was to use rubber tubing, slit lengthwise and slid on to the edges of the screen. I have tried this with clear tubing of the type used in an aquarium, but with no success. The tubing wall wasn't thick enough to fit tightly between the screen and roll hoops.
Does anyone have a solution for this that works well as isn't unsightly? Either a specific type of tubing, or a completely different idea?
Thanks,
Ted

spend 85 cents on a 4 pack of 1/4 rubber washers
pull it apart put 3 washers in and re glue
will need clamps to hold together while glue dries cause washers are kinda thick
Now no noise at all
and you cant see the washers

I think it is the entire mechanism moving in the wind. Has nothing do do with movement of the glass within the mechanism. You need something between the glass and rollhoops to prevent the movement. Maybe some clear rubber stoppers?
