aftermarket for s2k
Unlike the others, the S2K is pretty much good to go for serious track/autox use right off the dealer lot. The lack of "mods available" is mainly because Honda built a good car to start with.
thanks for the advice.
the one thing that is holding me back from a s2k (haven't driven one mind you!) is that it seems the engine is very buzy ie. to get some power you have to rev really high. It seems this is a motorcycle with 4 tires hehe.
am i wrong? (not a troll so please be kind..just asking!)

That's fairly accurate. Oddly enough when the S debuted in late 99, early 2000 I wrote it off for that same reason. My thinking was that, what good is an engine if you have to spin it up to the moon and back to get any power. I am glad to admit that I was totally wrong. The RPM range is a good portion of the fun of this vehicle. Go drive one, you'll see
I didnt seriously start looking for one until about 1.5 years ago. I wanted to make sure that the engine was not going to blow up from those revs over time. Once the AP2 came out, I was convinced.
Yes, the power band is way up there, but is is almost 3000RPM long, about the same as the 350Z. Z has more torque, so it has a little more oomph, but its a heavy car. The S2000 falls short by roughly 45hp, but it weighs several hundred pounds less. Hence why the S has faster 0-60 time (I think the 1/4 times are also a bit faster).
Depends if you want a pure brute, or a go-kart on steroids.

i really wish it was a 2+2 also, a 2 seater is just to impracticle for me at this point (that's one plus a 3series has).
and i'm sure the insurance company charges more $$ for a 2 seater.
it really depends what one is looking for though, this is def. not a car for someone who has a family and its their only car ahhaha.
i must drive one some day, i just hate the fact dealerships are hesitant to let people drive their high end car...its not like its a 100K car they have to be so catious over! sheesh!

Think of it this way- S2K is Honda's top car. They produce less than 10k a year (if demand was higher, it would also be higher) and the Dealers usually carry 1 or 2 new S's on the lot (usually 1).
So having a demo S2K would be a bad fiscal decision for the dealer since most of the S2K's come and go like there's no tomorrow.
If you want to test drive the S, go look at private dealerships.
