Default Alarm honks when unlocking

I'm sure there's a FAQ on this, but I can't find it:

My keyless entry honks when I lock or unlock the car (using the keyless), as if a door were open. This has gone on for several days. I've checked all the doors and the trunk -- they're shut just fine. I tried pulling and replacing the fuse, to no avail. I'm thinking bad sensor, but then wouldn't one of the dashboard idiot lights be lit?

Ideas welcome.

Two honks. Didn't know it was standard, because my car never did it before -- I guess it was disabled. And I guess a gremlin enabled it.

I'll play around for the button combo. Thanks.

the buttons you need to hold down together for 3-5 seconds are the "lock" button and the "option" button (aka trunk release).

if you do it correctly - the red light at the end of the remote will flash briefly - to let you know you have turned the lock/unlock horn noise either "on" or "off".

this is the key combo to toggle back and forth between silent lock/unlock & horn honking lock/unlock.

NOTE: i have the factory alarm installed so i'm not sure if this is different from the standard remote for an S without the alarm?

good luck!
