alarm for s2000?
Well I relized awhile ago thatI didn't have an alarm on my car even though the key FOB beeps....So I'm going to be putting a simple alarm in soon not to $$. So the Question is what alarm out there is senstiive enough to detect someone cutting the top or touching your car etc? I still want to keep the Honda FOB so I guess something comatible with that.Let me know the model and price thanks!
Nothing you keep with the Honda will detect people cutting. You need a PROX sensor for that.
I went with a Clifford Matrix 2.5 + PROX + Hood Pins + Rain Sensor = A little piece of mind

I have a clifford matrix 2.5(the only diff in the 3.0 is auto start, and we can't use that) I added the prox. sensor and rain sensor for the top to go up incase it rains and the whole deal installed was about $360.00. A guy named Matt at Sounds on Wheels in the valley(Spokane) did it.
I have a Viper 690VX, no remote start (with an added prox sensor (basically the same as the Clifford Matrix). I bought my car used and it came with the alarm, so I have no idea how much it costed ... but ~$400 installed was about the price I was told when I was looking for one on my other car.
Best insurance you can buy is a manual kill switch. Add or change a useless button on the dash into a kill switch that you press to enable/disable the kill and nobody will be able to drive your car away w/o pressing the button. They'll still be able to tow it away on a flatbed though ... but the more deterrants you put on the car, the more likely it is that they'll pass over your car for someone else's.
Of course, if they specifically want your car for one reason or another, then there's probably not too much you can do to prevent them stealing it. If they're "professional" thieves.

As far as I know the Honda unit basically covers doors. You can add the hood pins to cover under the hood but those are actually ADD ONS from the dealership. It also offers on dash integration with the LED built into the dash.
It doesn't offer PROX, Glass breakage, Tilt-Tow, Auto Window roll up or rain detection, not even a VISIBLE LED

I have Viper 2 way plus Prox... But with the prox, sometimes it can get annoying... I got it so I can keep the top down when I park but now the alarm sometimes go off when the wind blowing hard... However, I am glad i got it anyway... Parking by my house... I have less worry sleeping at night. dont need to worry someone takes my seat... but hopefully in 3 months I will have a garage for my S..
