proxy sensors suck... they dont' work as well as you think they will.....and they can become very very annoying..... if a theif wants your car they will get it regardless of what kind of alarm you have....

i think the best theft deterent is...
1. removeable steering wheel (quick release)
2. hood pins with seperate key/lock (this way they can't pop your hood and disconnect the battery or cut the horn)
3. the club (that goes on your clutch pedal)... (forgot what it's called) it's practically imposssible to cut because of the placement of the device, and not enough room in that area to get in and actually try to cut it off...
I think the S is probably one of the nicest cars to run a prox in, in my 944, 300ZX and RX-7 I had a tough time getting them setup. The S was installed with a metal piece shielding the rear area of the car and adjusted so if your within 1 foot of the perimeter of the car it chirps and if someone violates the air in the cockpit... Instant full trigger.

Since it's been in and tuned, I've had one false alarm/ Mind you it's not as sensitive with the hardtop on, but then again, I have the added security of the not being worried about slicing the top and going in.

It's all about hardware and taking time to set it up right in the first place.

where exactly did you place the proxy.... i had it in my civic, and it was a pain in my ass, one of the worst things i ever got.... if it was to windy it would go off, if it was raining it would go off, if a car drove by it would go off.... it drove me nuts..

most alarms have an exterior and interior barrier that can be adjusted to avoid this. if your exterior is too sensitive...garage doors, trees blowing in the wind, rain, and everything else that goes on around your car will constantly set it off and desensitize everyone around with all the false alarms. spend the time to get the interior and exterior set to a level that only notifies you when you actually need it and it is a very effective alarm.

mine is just sensitive enough to pick up someone touching the softop or putting their hands inside the car when the top is down. it may even pick up a door ding depending on the panel but i'm not as concerned about those as they are more "my fault" than someone stealing my seats.
