What are the odds.

make sure the bolt didn't damage the rotor.

When I heard your tires chirped just as it happened, it felt like the e-BRAKE was on, and that you could only push it backwards, I thought brakes as well. Then he mentioned 'power-braking' like characteristics, I was pretty sold. xviper is too quick though.

The dealer called today to say that a bolt on the brake caliper had broken causing it to shift and lock against the disc in the forward direction. Going backward made it slip back in place so it could roll.
Was that on the front or on the rear brake?

Anyway.. diagnoses from xviper.
First making clear what excactly is going on..
Then coming back with the answer.

Front driver's side brake. I had done a visual on it, but you couldn't actually tell from looking at it with the wheel on. Got it back at lunch time today and all is well.

Dealers are free to offer whatever warranty they want on a used car (no warranty if they want).

The obvious exception being if the factory warranty is still valid.
Not always true;

state law in New Mexico requires used car dealers to provide a 15 day/500 mile warranty on every car they sell.
