Sometimes, there are silver linings in dark clouds.......

A month ago, while coming home from church, we passed a red VW cabrio sitting at the end of a driveway with a "For Sale" sign on it. It read "Very old lady driven with 40,000 miles." It was a 2004. Some years ago, we had an identical one and my wife always regretted parting with it. We called and set up a time to drive it. We ended up making an offer. It was accepted and we went in the owners home to close the deal; cash in hand. Except, the owner claimed he couldn't find the title. We advised him it wasn't a problem. Just call us tomorrow and we'll come back. We never heard back from him. I suppose I could have left a deposit with him but in reality, I had mixed feelings about the car as it had some minor body scrapes that we would have had repaired.

Silver lining(quite literally)..... two weeks later we purchased a Silver 2000 AP1 that had 41,000 miles on it and looks almost brand new.

This happened to me when I was attempting to buy my first S. Put down a $500 deposit, sold my current car, and received a call about an hour later saying he didn't want to sell it anymore. I found a better one. Sh*t happens. You'll find the right one. Be patient.
