Well, I was a bit off on the mileage on my tires (I only drive the car once or twice a week so I don't always remember the odometer reading). I'm closer to 12,500 miles. I think I might be able to get close to 14,000 miles on my rear tires!

Looks as though I'm headed down the same path. After all this talk I 'm thinking of getting some before they go up in price. Perhaps putting the older ones on different wheels and using them at a track event. Hum!

I priced the S02 (OEMs) at Tire Rach, then went to Discount Tire and they matched the price. About $184 per.

You should have just gone back to TireRack. . .I don't understand why you let Discount Tire match the price. . .TireRack is much better in my opinion. . .

...because if you get a flat, Discount Tire will fix it or replace the tire. Hence part of the reason that my tires only cost me $528 (they credited me one tire). Plus (in my case) DT actually sold them to me for cheaper than you can buy them from tirerack.

ARAN, you got a bolt too? Unbelieveable. It was my first injury after only 50mi. What is it with these tires taking bolts through the thickest part of the tread as if it were butter?

Anyone else out there have similar road hazard problems on the S-02's that make them seem a bit prone?

Ready to get a new set of wheels for the rear and S-03's. I really like the S-02's but feel it may be best to have the S-03's for the winter and S-02's for the rest of the year. In getting a new set of wheels it's just a matter of swapping them.

I had a piece of metal shred a brand new S02 on the freeway last month. The entire inside sidewall was ripped in half near the wheel rim. Also like butter. It didn't seem right.

I took a 4 inch nail through one of the rears 2 weeks ago. Had it patched because I've got 9,000 on the rears and they're nearly gone anyway. It created a leak, but didn't shred the tire.

I must be doing something wrong. I just rolled to 19,000 miles, and I am about to put on my FOURTH set of ALL FOUR tires!! Both fronts have less than one millimeter of tread left. Rears are basically slicks. (No steel yet... my first set blew at 6,000 miles... I'm not doing that again...)

I have never dropped the clutch and have never been on a track .

Only four miles of my commute is on a freeway, the rest is a country road (pretty curvy) and I do drive fairly aggressively, but I am getting over 220 miles to the tank, so how bad can I be?

What am I doing wrong, and what are you guys doing to squeeze 21,000 miles out of a set of front tires!?!? My fronts wear out almost exactly as fast as my rears. (Brobably because I don't drop the clutch...)
