Well, I've had my car since Oct '99 with no rattles or noises (other than tranny, road, etc). Now, after having the seat belt recall done, I have this very annoying rattle that seems to be coming from right behind my left shoulder. Before I rant and rave to the dealership about this, I figured it's worth my time to lubricate the top mechanism and see if that's it.

My question is what to use, and exactly where? I've got the silicone grease for the rubber seals, but am unsure of what to use on the mechanical joints.

Try one thing drive the car around when it starts to rattle or creek or what ever push on the rear window at the edge. The top that overlaps the window on my car is making a creeking or rattling sound. I ignore it now cuz I know what it is.

RxS2K,

I too had a similar rattle after having the seatbelt fix done. Mine turned out to be the lock nut on the spare wheel being loose, it might worth a quick check ??

Source of my rattle also was the spare tire spinner...figuring the spare must have come out for the seatbelt fix!
