this might sound stupid as I hven't had a chance to fully think about this , but what do you think of this idea..

Since the lock and unlock function of the s2k can be done through the keyless entry, has anyone ever thought of removing the locking tab on the door handle? So only way you could unlock it is through the keyless entry or your key from the outside?

My thinking is lets say they slash through your top, or smash your window or whatever to get to your seats.. Obviously the doors would still be locked right? If they are unable to unlock and open the doors, I have no idea how they would be able to get to your seats... They'll probaby have to rip off your door covers off but that too would be hard since the door is closed..

Haven't even looked at how you could remove that (lock/unlock) tab since I just though of it right now, but what are your thoughts if you were able to remove this piece... yay, or nay, or should I just bang my head on this wall here lol
what people will do to save $60 buy seat locks

PUT A SNAKE IN YOUR S2000 EVERYNIGHT!

Snake in s2k!

That or strychnine inside of a plastic bag and tie it to the bolt underneath your seat, so once the bolt is loose, the bag opens and kills the thief. only downside is you might accidently die.

or just park somewhere safe and always know that insurance will cover for your damages.

Yes!

We all make our insurance payments for our own reasons.

My reason is NOT to make the insurance company rich with a risk free policy, but for them to replace and repair damage and theft.

When I am paying a yard boy to come cut the grass, I don't go run out and do the edging work before he arrives. I pay him to do that.

Word.

Fearmongering is a staple of marketing...look at Y2K, and remember the "duct tape all your windows" scare?

In the end, life goes on and someone walks away with your money.

i rather not buy the seat lock and have the insurance company pays me money to get all new parts.

why do you guys obsess over a worn seat when you could get brand new ones?

I mean, I wish someone could slash my top and take my seats, so I could get new top and new seats that will last me longer than the ones I have now.

^^^ Great, we all thank you with our increased insurance rates. You should probably hope your car gets keyed when you need a new paint job too.

Because not all companies will cover you for new parts.

i was thinking more of an attack dog.

and parking in a nice neighborhood doesnt always protect you, ask me how I know?

So to those who doesn't have an alarm, I'd suggest you get one. And add the lil extras on the side, the extra long bolts with nut at the bottom, seat locks, king cobras, killer bees, etc.

I've also added a wireless motion sensor from my home alarm so @ nights when someone gets in my car, my home alarm would also go off. Just gotta see how far the range is.

Am I being a lil too paranoid about this? probably lol but you can't help not to when it happens to you. I live in a very nice condo community and never expected things like this to happen. O well.

That's a good idea for someone who is tired of their paint. A bit of a hassle if the paint pleasing as is tho.

I got it.

hook it up to the seat bolts, and as soon as the bolt is removed, it activates the system, thus eliminating the problem of anybody touching your car, no matter if they're kids, cats, dogs, birds, people, hobos.

come on people, let's take this to the extreme. I'm tire of reading about seats getting ripped off of our cars. Who's getting this?
