he did mention in another thread the specific reason not to. i agree with your "in a pinch" reasoning.

I think that this is the point ... S2000 owners can go completely over the top about protecting their pride and joy, just like many other "speciality" owners, but at the end of the day, topping of with a different grade of oil is NOT going to damage the engine.
