It caught on fire because the dealer did not correctly install the oil filter. Stop posting.
I'm surprised that you were able to get insurance and buy the car, considering you were on a suspended license.
Your brother should be responsible for the damages, not your insurance company. HE caused the wreck.

.......... Its a pain to get them off the phone
I would buy an older Miata;get some track time in it , sell the Miata to your brother and then buy another S2000
where the hell is tn? if you're 25 years of age and under, you're done with sport car for awhile bro. Insurance for you is going to be insane if you could even get insurance. 18k is a pretty good settlement, but man getting a new S with insurance? maybe this time you won't let your brother drive and the both of you stop ****ing around.
Toasted.....post in the Smokey Mnt section. A lot of us local guys know of area cars for sale that might get you back on the road if its what you decide to do.......just dont let your brother drive the car.
@Ckit: That was the first thing I thought of after this. Definitely seems like a good investment
@Zdave: I got the speeding ticket 8 months into owning the S. Since I was under 18 at the time of the ticket, the judge took away my license for two months and let my take a four hour driving school in return for having it stricken from the record. If I had been given the ticket twenty days later, I would have just had the driving school.
Actually Loons, I found an '03 Berlina for sale here that fits perfectly
We're all insured for all of the cars the family owns, so yes, the insurance company is liable. And after some digging it seems they never upped our rates for the Sentra crash, which was also weather related.
