Ah, no cell phone has ever caused an explosion at a gas station anywhere on earth. The chances are much higher that starting your car after filling it up will cause an explosion. This is just another urban legend.

By the way, this thread made me check the oil in my 2002 S2000 for the firs time today (1970 miles). Down to the last "X" in the dipstick! 3/4 qt of Castrol GTX 10W-30 later, I feel a lot better. Took the opportunity to top off my 330ci with Mobil 1 5W-30 as well (another engine with an appetite for oil). Thanks for all the reminders to check oil levels in the S2000, especially in the first few thousand miles!
