Default Another Top Question

I have searched over 5 pages of soft top questions have still havent found an answer... its is giving me grief... so im gonna ask... again.... lol

The soft top on MY00 is starting to ware to the point that i can see light threw pinholes in 2 spots
This picture (sorry if its yours) shows were im wearing
The RED line shows were i have wear and some pinwholes

Has anyone found a diffinative solution to minimalizing or preventing this wear...?
I seam to remember another member saying that if you cover the tringle arm(blue), top brace and little plastic half circle with sub box carpet it will prevent/reduce how much this wears... COULD THIS WORK??? Or do you have a better option?

you can do that. felt should work fine too if that's easier for you to find at the local hardware store.

you can also sand down the edges of the frame that you are talking about so that they are not so rough.

i patched my wear holes with pieces of vinyl (much like our vinyl tops) and used spray adhesive to keep them attached. works fine for me.

I filed off the sharp edge on the round hinge end shown by the black arrow (it was sharp and had a little bit of a burr that was cutting the threads). I suggest putting a thin vinal 1"x2" patch (vinal sideout) on the wear spot to absorb future wear and to strengthen the weak area against future stretching and tearing. Fabric shops have thin black vinal and fabric adhesive.
