Harry, talk to your own Greg Stevens (or Larry at Body Werks) about what happens when performance tires get too cold...

Happy to hear that all is well with you and your passenger.

I've already had two bad experiences with hydroplaning at speeds above 60 mph with the stock SO 2.

I feel your pain (having trashed mine in a similar fashon about a month ago). Don't worry about your pride...it sounds like you did an excellent job of controlling a nearly impossible situation. Glad you and yours are OK.

P.S. Get a new S2K...it will make you feel better. It worked for me.

James:
Glad you are O.K. I've learned to treat the car with a lot of respect in the wet. I slow right down!!!There's definitely a strong case for an alternative to the SO2's for regular wet use. You can't put a price on what you've learned from this (Leave that to your Ins. Co.)

James get a new one There's a lot of power going to the back wheels of any RWD performance car. In the wet, they all need careful handling, not just this one. Try losing the back end of an MR2 in the wet with all that engine weight over the back axle! You and your wife are O.K. which is the main thing.

Cedric,

I think we probably will.

I notice that you are a member of the Anti-stook Club. Do you think that I can now call my car a stook, since I believe

.......the only good stook is a dead stook!!

I don't drive my S2000 in the rain. I performs poorly, IMHO.

I, too, have crashed in the rain bouncing off both guard rails. I was driving through Tennessee in a company car and wiped out.

An eighteen wheeler nearly missed the car. Once everybody got stopped, they all drove off. Waited two and a half hours for Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Tough day! =)
