antena alternative??
i put this over in electronics and now it is a debate of xm radio! what i want to know is what anyone else is doing concerning the lousy reception the stubby little antena gets? anyone install a power antena? if so or if any other choices please advise details...anyone able to connect to the head unit using the existing cable from the fender area so that i don't have to remove the head unit again???? thanks for whatever...i know this car is not about tunes, but if you can help????
When I called hardtopguy to order a new antenna (mine was just stolen), he suggested an Insight antenna as an alternative. I think it's a little bit longer, but I don't know if that means better reception or not.
I bought a 2" antenna off ebay. Its a nice little piece of aluminium, but reception went from bad to worse. I think if would be fine if I lived in an urban area closer to the big radio stations (I live an hour and a half out side of Charlotte). Now the only thing I can pick up is a few country stations based in closer towns. I don't listen to radio that much so it doesn't really bother me, and I have a serious system on the way. I really like the looks of the short antenna though, kinda looks like the MB antennas. It would have been nice if Honda had embedded the antenna in the windshield like the accords, no attenna sticking up and great reception.
I have the insight antenna, and love it. The recption is slightly better.
