From the thread title, I thought I was getting a key to a nice hotel room that was S2000 themed.

So did anyone go to Acura to ask about a possible key conversion yet?
1. AP2 key is laser cut. The switchblade Acura key is also laser cut, meaning that cutting the physically key should be cake. No need to switch out the physical key or anything. Just cut and play!
2. Someone on here was able to reprogram an Accord key (integrated fob, non switchblade) to work with the S2k immobilizer. Thus my reasoning is that the Acura key is also compatible with the S2k immobilizer meaning that we should have no problem programming it.
My plan is to:
1. Wait till I can get a (good) price on the key. Someone on our Acura forum (or maybe it was here) purchased the RDX switchblade key from their dealer for a mere $61. I'd like to get the TL version of the key, which includes a trunk release button (whihc the RDX switchblade I'm told, doesn't have).
2. Find a local dealer who's willing to do the programming for free instead of charging me an arm and a leg to do it. I'm on pretty good terms with my sales and service depts within my local dealership, so hopefully I'll have no trouble getting it done for free. Some dealerships don't charge for the service, others do, so its a matter of finding the right one.
3. Hopefully "mod" the key somewhere down the line to where it displays the "S2000" shield as on the AP2 keys, instead of the Acura symbol.
If anyone makes any further headway with this, please let us know.
I was thinking about prying off the S2000 shield or the H shield on the key fob as well. The nearest Acura dealership is about 30 miles away, so I'm gonna wait to see if anyone can confirm a positive on the switch before I take mine in.
if you take a look at the switchblade key closely, the "A" sign for Acura is located on the part of the key that is the battery cover. I was wondering if anyone had a pic of the battery cover of the Accord integrated key, if they're the same cover, then they could just be switched out.
We have an Element and swapped out the accord key fob w/ integrated electronics in it. I got the chip out of the valet key (cut it out) and put it into the remote. Took the key to Honda and they cut the key for free.
No need to re-program anything, and it works great. I see no reason this will not work with our cars - but most Acura dealers still do not have the laser key cutting machines- since they are just now getting in the laser cut keys.

I did many searches today on reprogramming the accord remote to work with our cars and came up with nothing. All I found were numerous attempts and failures. Just curious if you could point me in the direction of that person who was able to reprogram an accord key? Thanks!

RTZx9R's method just might work quicker. Apart from cutting open the valet key which seems like would be a bit of a pain, switching out the immobilizer chips would be a convenient and easy way to get the job done. Then just take the key to your local Honda dealer that has the laser key cutter and have it cut to the specs of your current key.
I'm just waiting for these Type-S keys to be available - the Type-S themselves are now just rolling in, so I'd give it a month or so, before we're able to order the key seperately.
