any info on s2k assembly in japan?
One of the articles I read on the website indicated that parts of the s2k are hand built. I've tried a search but can't find much information on the assembly of the car other than a few pictures. does anyone know where i can find out more about how they build these cars?

If you take off the spark plug cover and look under it, it'll tell you who built your car. My says "Hand Built WITH Pride by Ichiban Sukiyaki"
There is a big difference between hand built and hand assembled....the S2k is the latter.
You've got me picturing some poor little Japanese dude slaving away in a factory with a roll of sheet metal and a bunch of metal working tools...not the case

I thought 2000-2001 MY were assembled by hand, but from 2002+ it is all assembled on a assembly line.
It's an assembly line, with the cars being moved from one station to another by hand.
The only robotic part is the frame welding. Everything else is put together by hand. I can't comment on the source of all those parts.
