Any S2000 rc racers here?
With a decent charger a charge should take about 30-35 minutes and run a S2000 mini for about 10 minutes. Nitro is a pain in the ass. The best thing about the Tamiya cars is that they have Tamiya only races with good rules to keep everything fair. They have TCS races throughout the country with many prizes given to the winners and the chance to win a trip to Japan to race against the europeans and Japanese. The best thing is you can win if you drive good, it's not a big money class. Check if there is a race near you
Check out the Rules and races near you and maybe I'll smoke you in Philly, in march?

They also have a very cheap "box stock" only class which is very competitive. Check out the new Modena probably about $80

Thanks Unicorn, I still want to try again though
I think the body was about 35 bucks CDN here. I bought it seperatly. One of my customers gave me the Mustang kit for Christmas and mentioned the S2K body was available.
Even if it just sits there it's still a nice 1/10 model

A bunch of guys at our office run these cars. Save yourself a lot of time and just go with the nitro. I started with the electrics..cleaner, cheaper, handle great, but not so fast. Then I got a Trinity D4 motor and suddenly I could hang with the gas powered cars. Problem was, my run time was like 4 minutes or less!
So I bit the bullet and got a nitro. Tell the truth guys, these cars are a black hole for money. Yeah you can get a basic car for $200. But then come the upgrades. I think I have $1000 sunk in my car now. And I still do not have a S2000 body. Why? With the gas motor, it looks goofy when you cut the top off. Also the gas cars are 200mm and the S2000 body is for a 190MM chassis. So it looks weird.
So I run a few bodies on mine. Porsche Turbo, Porsche GT3, Denso Toyota Supra, AMG S class.

I love R/C cars.
