I've got a Boomerang 2000 alarm installed with remote start functions as well. Is it great? I consider it more of a novelty these days. I don't have a problem leaving it in neutral and I know where I park. If the road surface is uneven, I don't use the remote start function then. No problems with that whatsoever.

sIGH i SAID IT once - i will say it again.

MAKE SURE YOU WIRE A SWITCH TO THE GEAR LEVER - that way the car won't start unless it is in neutral!!!

Hmm how much would one of these systems cost?? I'm looking to buy an alarm, I might as well get that option with it. It seems pretty nifty, and fairly useful. Anybody know the price of a Voice activation, and just a button??

While on the subject, does anybody know how much it would be to install door sensors?? where the door handle is shaved off, and it opens automatically when you're by the door. (I think that's how it works)

I'm sure this thread will continue on, and a few others might think it will be a great idea. (I personally don't - especially the stupid voice activated window guy who claims to have the F&F car)

might want to keep repeating that a few more times (seriously).

How are you going to by-pass the immobilizer?

Hmmmm...?

I live in the NE and wouldn't take the chance. Get up 5 minutes earlier and warm up the car. This is a disaster waiting to happen.

One time when I took a girl out in his ride, as she and I approached the car, I spoke into the key fob and said: "Car on."
If you get this plate for your car in addition to the auto start feat. you may become very famous .

Once again, how do you bypass the fact that the car will not start, regardless of the gear position, unless the clutch pedal is depressed. Is there some sort of switch that defeats this function?

good point indeed... there are two ways to disable the immobilzer - there are bypass modules on the market that will do this electronically, or you can do it the way installers did it before such modules... sacrifice one of your keys and it gets installed in the dash so the car still 'sees' the chip in the key - it's just a small RF transmitter. the other option is to buy another key (not cheap) and install that in the dash so you don't lose a key. been there, done that. works fine.
as to the gear lever switch thing, why do it when the good starters make you perform the neutral check anyway?
as to the clutch depressing thing, most of these systems have a clutch switch bypass - it convinces the car that the clutch is in until the car is started.
they don't need to be automatics, not at all. any other questions?
