I came from a 01, integra gs-r. Bout 170hp and figure 140 at the wheels. Typical exhaust, hearder, intake setup. When I switched to the s2k, bone stock, it had me at 'hello'. Even on the freeway, when I put my foot on the gas, it just went! Love it! Sure I'll probably get used to it, but for now it's way more power than I ever had for 10yrs.

S2000's do NOT make 240 hp

ap1s have a hard time even making 200 at the wheels, and ap2's are barely higher than that

look at it for what it is, a 200 hp 4 banger in a 3k pound car (with driver)

its straight line accelleration wont be stellar, but everything other than that, is absolutely incredible

Thanks for the feedback. I am going to drive a CR tomorrow with my wife and the salesman said going out alone won't be an issue.

I will report back.
be sure to take some twisties, not too fast but just enough to feel how the car actually "is"

I was underwhelmed by the straight line oomphhhh but its the most_fun car I've ever owned. some guys here are getting butthurt, which is understandable because we all love the S . The S isn't for everyone though, so if you dont like it now, dont buy it for sure.

What sold me on the S:
1) How the seats felt.
2) How all the controls were no-nonsense
3) the way the car felt (light, nimble)
4) How easy the car was to work on (looked at 350/G35/sti..etc)

What I didnt/dont like:
1) straight line speed
2) pricing of aftermarket

its definitely faster than 80% of all the cars out there, its just one of the slowest "car people's car"

Sometimes you just have to drive whatever puts a smile on your face
A true roadster (designed to be a convertible) has always been on my wish-list. At the age of 58 my wish came true last Feb. With a kid starting college I needed a reliable as well as a fun car to drive. Sometimes you know when you made the right choice! The You-tube video from the Top Gear guys helped me decide&feature=related

If you want to see what the S can do check out this video&feature=fvsr

Who's talking WHP? S2000's are spec'd at 237 net hp.240 give or take. I've never experienced two identicle engines. More real than the older standard of gross engine output less the bells and whistles.Read the sticker rated hp on any late model car and your reading the net hp of the engine. Not WHP.

Maybe you thought since I mentioned the WHP of my bike I was assuming the same applied to the S with the 240 number. Or maybe you weren't referencing my post at all.
Honestly, it's a little slow off the line.

+1 on saleman in car= boring ride. Go far out in the middle of nowhere(deserted mountains) and make sure you have life insurance, a will address to wife or family. Floor the car, make sure it never drops under 5k rpm and im 100% sure your disapointment will go away fast. My first s2k was stock, then I SC it and was disapointed, sold it, bought a c6 and I was still disapointed. I bought another s2k and going turbo this time(future plan, Im broke ) What im trying to say is all cars will leave a bit of disappointment unless you buy a Bugatti Veyron

I dont have an s2k yet but I somewhat agree with cronic.

I test drove a certified suzuka AP2 a couple of months ago and I was somewhat letdown too by the acceleration, coming from an H22 prelude I only felt a slight upgrade.

I was also unable too fully enjoy the drive because of the chatterbox salesman who would not stfu and let me concentrate on the drive.

But what still has me in the market for an S2000 is the superb nimble handling and A+ gearbox along with the excellent balance. These attributes make-up for the somewhat lacking acceleration.
Glad you see where I am coming from.

If i HATED it I would not still be searching for one, and giving it another chance. The car still had quite a few positives.

Tomorrow I am going to really put it through its paces.

What did you not like about the Sc'd car?

------------
By the way, it is not all about straight line performance. A car has to have that "fun factor". I mean I have an 09 FIT sport, and it is slow as shit but I love to drive it..lol

i was unimpressed for the first few drives.

Then I realized i was driving like a wuss since it was a brand new car so I began driving harder.

Now I fall deeper in love with it every day I take it out.
