wow, this is kind of alarming. So for guys like me that don't launch their car should I be worried about this? Not to mention, I just boosted my car, so maybe now it is an issue I need to watch out for.

If you do a search you will see that many people have gone through one or more diffs it is almost notoriously weak on this car.

That's a little scary. I've caught wind of the car having a weak diff, but my understanding is that it would only give out if you were beatin the hell out of the car (ie. dumpin the clutch).

I think I head something about this as well. All cars have their weak point. wrx & evo = transmission. Focus SVT = DSI Cable. Honda CR-V = Catching on fire. Kia Rio = Everything. Any ideas about aftermarket differentials to correct our car's weakest link?

Wouldn't you think that the Engineers made this car to handle the power it makes, UNLESS the driver abuses the car?

I've been hearing about this since I bought my car 2 years ago. Luckily, I am still on my first diff. I never dump my clutch, but I do drive hard, and if/when mine goes out, 4.57s and a comptech reinforced diff!
So, really it's a blessing in disguise.

there is a LOT of knowledge/opinions on this issue...i think the summary is you should change your diff fluid at the 5000 mi mark or less...and then every 10,000 mi or yearly....also you need to use the correct diff fluid...Honda does NOT supply an OEM diff fluid for the S2000, so if the dealer used that then bye bye diff.
