Still in the bag. Has moved from trunk to garage to basement back to garage. I guess that means it has less than .1 miles. Guess I could try to sell on e-bay as new (just kidding). See no need to trade in. Waiting until someone can come up with a good tonneau cover (like on the old MGs). That would be great.

I haven't traded in my cover. I was all set to do it and started seeing negative posts on the board. I only use my cover once in a while and I like the way it looks when it's on. I guess I have no plans to get the new one.

If it's not broke don't fix it is what my father always told me.

I'm keeping the orginal cover, not having the seatbelts replaced and not having the transmission touched unless they fail. Why mess with perfection?

Excuse my ignorance but has this recall been done in Canada? Does anyone have a picture of both covers so I can determine which one I have. If I have the old one I was never told about a cover recall.

Any other Canadian responses????

I still have the original one from 10/99 and it's still
in plastic. I can't see trading it if I don't use it anyway.

Well, I did get mine. It's been in its box since I got it, and I have no plans to take it out of its box.

I also took car of the seat belts recall. Think the dealer messed up my trunk doing it though.

Mine came in a thick, clear plastic bag- only have the "new" cover as mine was built after the fix. It was in teh trunk on delivery.

I wish I kept the original too. It looked much better. My "new" one has never been on except when the dealer insisted they were supposed to "fit" it onto the car as part of their warranty exchange policy. Whatever. i came home, took it off, and now it gathers dust in the garage. i think I'll put it on next week when I get my car back from the TSB054-055 services. Maybe it'll feel like getting anew car again!

Well guys, I use the tonneau cover (boot) all the time as I always have the roof down - check my bio data in the left column and you can see I have relatively little need to take the thing off (even when I wash the car - weekly - I leave the roof down so I don't have to take the cover off).

So as you can tell I'm a big fan of this thing and was reluctant to trade the old in for the new. So on the day I went in for the recall, together with my 15,000km service, I just happened to leave the old cover at home. Went back to collect the car and the service manager got quite upset and insisted I bring in the old cover as the new one had cost him $A1,3000 (can you beleive it!!) which he would have to pay Honda if he didn't send back the old cover.

Instead I called Honda and basically said if you're going to throw the old one out then I want to keep it. After a bit of toing and froing they reluctantly agreed to let me keep it but said they (Honda) would cover themselves by sending me a letter which basically says that if I use it, have an accident and the seatbelts didn't work because the cover was on then I have no comeback against Honda. I accepted this and since July last year have been the lucky owner of two covers.

I mainly use the old cover (although I have used both) as it looks better even though it has a couple of scratches - the new one is pretty much virgin condition.
